Wolverines win the Island Cup for the fourth year in a row

The Wolverines football team brought home the Island Cup on the interisland ferry Saturday afternoon after defeating the Vikings 13-0. The game between Orcas Island High School and Friday Harbor High School was traditionally the last game of the season but has now become the first game.
This is the fourth year in a row the Friday Harbor team has triumphed over their inter-island rivals.
On the fourth-down with 5:41 left to go in the first quarter, Wolverine quarterback Michael Ausilio threw a 4-yard pass to tight end Michael GrosJacques, who carried the ball in for a touchdown. With the successful PAT by Cody Price the Wolverines went up 7-0.
With 39 seconds left in the first half Friday Harbor scored their second touchdown. Forest Dayton caught an 11-year pass from Ausillo. The Wolverines had gained possession of the ball on an interception by GrosJacques. They moved the ball down the field with seven plays before scoring the touchdown. The PAT was no good.
The Vikings threatened to score several times including a 55-yard pass play from quarterback Chris Troutman to senior Eric Hansen. That put the Vikings deep in the Wolverine territory at the end of the third quarter, but the Wolverines stopped them.
