We wrap up August with the second New Moon of the month on Saturday, which will occur in the sign of Virgo, three degrees of separation from stern and watchful Saturn. This New Moon will be special, activating our need for structure and stronger foundations upon which to walk.
The other major event this week is Mercury (learning/communication/business transactions) and Venus (self-worth) in Virgo traveling hand-in-hand into an opposition with Uranus (unexpected events) in Pisces. The people that will feel this opposition the most will be the Mutable signs born during the middle of the month of their signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces).
When Mars opposed Uranus a couple of weeks ago we saw Russia attacking Georgia, the beginning of the Bejing Olympics, and other newsworthy events. This opposition will be different as it focuses on communication and self worth, so there will likely be issues of cooperation afoot as we gather our forces to be better people (or even nastier than we already are, if that's the priority).
As we hurtle on toward Election Day, remember this…we are only a little over four years from 2012, a year chock full of astronomical/astrological events. I've been studying the mechanics of the Mayan Calendar from within Mexico and have gleaned an enormous amount of information. We are in a cycle, and our personal lives, in the big picture, are greatly affected by these times, which began to accelerate in 2004. Stay tuned (in)!
Aries (March 21 - April 20):
This may be a crazy week with Mercury and Venus opposing chaotic Uranus in your sectors of health and new beginnings, respectively. Your Ruler Mars comes to save the day though, kissing Saturn in your sectors of relationships and health. You'll get by with help from your friends, so let them be there for you!
Taurus (April 21 - May 20):
An energetic opposition involving Mercury and Venus against mighty Uranus occurs in your sectors of creative expression and goals. Just when you thought you could put your feet up, you're barreling across the fields of clover again at speed! Keep your wits about you and eat dessert first this week!
Gemini (May 21 - June 20):
Oops! Your Ruler Mercury along with Venus form an argumentative opposition with Uranus this week, so your sectors of home and career are going to be rocking and rolling this week! Try not to argue or get too combative over anything because tempers are likely to fly around you. Keep yours under wraps and keep a cool head. Mars in your sector of creativity will help you.
Cancer (June 21 - July 22):
Your sector of learning is very active now, and two planets in that sector (Mercury and Venus) form an electric opposition to Uranus in your sector of expansion will take you to an entirely different level this week. Keep your attention on your goals and don't get knocked off your rails by someone else's temper or attempts to get you in a headlock. With powerful Venus keeping watch in your sector of Home, this is where you can find sanctuary.
Leo (July 23 - August 22):
Your financial situation is likely to undergo great changes due to Mercury and Venus in that sector engaging in an energetic opposition to electric Uranus in your sector of shared assets and intimacy. You may get a sudden return on an investment or an unexpected gift of value. Whatever it is, enjoy it to its fullest! If it turns out you have an unexpected expenditure, don't stress over it. In the long term it will work out.
Virgo (August 23 - September 22):
Your sign is under fire, with Mercury and Venus there, opposing chaotic Uranus in your sector of relationships. This opposition is unpredictable since it can go either way…an altercation or a fiery romance. Whichever way it turns out, the coming weeks will be especially memorable!
Libra (September 23 - October 22):
Mercury and Venus in your sector of New Beginnings oppose rebellious Uranus in your sector of health and work. Adding to an interesting mix is passionate Mars in your sign. Your confidence is up to anything now, so stay on track and don't get distracted by illusions: you will need to put a lid on any impulsive behavior on your part as well.
Scorpio (October 23 - November 22):
Mercury and Venus in your sector of friendship and goals oppose chaotic Uranus in your sector of creative expression. Well, now. If you are looking for hidden motives, you'll find them. If your search focuses on what is the highest and best, you'll find that too. You'll find everything! During an opposition like this, folks tend to blab, so put on your Sherlock Holmes hat and keep your ear to the ground!
Sagittarius (November 23 - December 20):
Get ready for a wild time, especially if you were born in Mid-December. Chatty Mercury and powerful Venus in your sector of career oppose electric Uranus in your sector of Home. Don't make any major decisions about relocating unless you have to; your home life has been unstable for a couple of years at least, and this is the last kicker for a while. Hang tight and stay focused on your personal goals.
Capricorn (December 21 - January 19):
Mercury and Venus are chatting away in your sector of sector of expansion and travel, and this week they bump into a mighty opposition with Uranus in your sector of short trips and learning. This should make any trips to the mainland or further afield very lively and full of unexpected adventures. Be prepared!
Aquarius (January 20 - February 19):
Uranus holding court in your sector of finances still causes chaos now as it encounters an opposition with Mercury and Venus in your sector of shared assets/intimacy. This could cause some arguments, but the saving grace is energetic Mars in your sector of expansion. You will be able to achieve the balance you need with patience and awareness, plus a dash of magic!
Pisces (February 20-March 20):
Okay Fishie, another spate of activity comes your way as communicative Mercury and powerful Venus stumble into an opposition with Uranus. Expect to find out new things about yourself in unexpected ways. This will be a period of time to accept yourself as you are or undergo significant changes willingly. This is a highly spiritual time for you, so make the most of it for the best benefits.
