Popcorn and a movie. Combine that with a trip to the library and you've got the perfect Friday night out! If you haven't heard about this library program, it's not too late. On select Fridays throughout the winter we transform the library into a movie theater. We pop up the popcorn, dim the lights, lower the screen, and show a movie that all ages can enjoy. It's as sweet as it sounds. Kids laughing. Adults laughing and remembering the first time they saw some of these same movies. Moms and Dads holding hands in the dark. And did I mention the popcorn? The good stuff of life. And this year the experience is better than ever with our new audio, projector and screen. Money raised by the Friends of the Library paid for the screen and has made a huge difference in the quality of the show. The set up really makes you feel like you are having a special night out. We started in January and have two more shows planned for this winter. Coming up:
All movies become part of the collection so you can check them out and watch them at home if you can't make one of the nights. When you come to the movie don't forget to welcome our new Youth Services Librarian, Jim Thomas, to the library. He started this week and is excited to build on our youth programming and bring his ideas, experience, and energy to serving our kids. Look for lots of fun stuff from Jim coming up!
