Emily has worked at the library as a Library Associate since 2006. Before that she worked at the library as substitute staff, volunteer, and ESL Children's Enrichment Teacher. When I left the island for my 1½ years, Emily was a substitute and had just started working ESL. When I came back she had been hired as regular staff and I was really happy Lauren had made that happen. At the library we will miss her upbeat attitude and friendly personality. Her smile welcomes patrons of all ages and her hard work ensures they get what they came in for. Emily's last regularly scheduled day at the library will be Saturday, May 23rd. She will work a couple of Monday evenings in June to finish out the ESL quarter with the students. After that she will finish up things on-island and take time to travel and visit family before heading overseas. She and her family will be on the plane on August 6th to begin work by the end of the month. Jen Fleming who already works as a Library Associate will be taking on all of Emily's hours. Emily is training her right now in the new duties she will take on to make this transition as seamless as possible. Please be sure to stop by and wish Emily good luck before she leaves!
