Park free in Anacortes, walk on the ferries and use shuttles on the islands

posted 06/18/2008
Visitors to the San Juan Islands will get a break this Fourth of July holiday week when Washington State Ferries offers free parking at the Anacortes terminal July 3-7 so visitors can walk or bring their bicycles onto the ferries, leaving their cars behind. The Lopez Island Chamber of Commerce will also offer free shuttle service from the ferry landing to Lopez Village and the south end of the island. Both Orcas Island and San Juan Island have regular shuttle service that operates seasonally with reasonable rates.

Parking payment is required for all vehicles located in the Anacortes ferry terminal before July 3 and after July 7. Limited parking space is available at the Anacortes Ferry Terminal and advance reservations are needed for most lodging options in the San Juan Islands during the summer months.
