Friday Harbor's annual Posada began and ended at St. Francis Church on a windy, chilly Monday (Dec. 17, 2001) evening. Don Galt led his burro Henry as Mary (Yolanda Martinez) and Joseph (Dick Barnes) searched for lodging. They were turned away at the convalescent center, Spring St. School, new dentist office and King's Typesetting before finding shelter at St. Francis Catholic Church.

The crowd warmed up in the parish hall. Cookies were served, carols were sung and a pinÁta was whacked.
