Marathon route setThe second annual San Juan Island Marathon takes place June 6, 2004. The race starts and finishes at the San Juan County Fairgrounds. The 26.2 mile route goes down San Juan Valley Road to Wold Road to Lime Kiln and back down West Side Road/Bailer Hill Road and Douglas Road and back to the fairgrounds.detailed below the map.

He became the first person to run seven marathons in seven continents in seven months in 1997. Guiness created a new world record for the feat, "the fastest time to run marathons on each of seven continents" or "the Triple Seven" for his record and certified him as a world record holder on Jan. 1999. In 2000, he became the first non-North American resident to run marathons in all 50 states plus DC. He has run in 51 countries. His short-term goal is to enjoy 500 marathons in 100 countries by year 2010 and middle-term goal is to enjoy 1,000 marathons in 250 countries by 2049.
