Letter from Elisa HowardAs the Luminaria chair for the 2007 Relay for Life in Friday Harbor, I would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to the following people: My husband, Nate Howard, for all his help packing up, hauling over and setting up! Our dear island musician, Kate Schuman, for volunteering her time and sang a favorite “I Will Never Walk Alone”, which was a very nice addition to the ceremony. Our disc jockey, Scott Bell, for playing music during the ceremony, as well as the whole event. Thank you to the technicians; Mary Kate Panero, Barbara Bevens and Shaun Cain for assisting with the power point presentation, I could not have done it without you! My luminaria helpers in setting them up around the track and lighting them; the Leo members which included; Christine Olshefsky, Eddie Nash, Nick Grosclose, Elliot Howard, Isaac Taylor, Mollie Taylor, and their leader, John Bostrom. Also, Rant Hansen, Tom Eastman and Laura Eastman who packed sand into the bags throughout the day. Thank you Becky Nash, Margaret Nash, Katie Chevalier and Mollie Taylor for getting those last bags decorated! Thank you Judy Cornell, Kevin Roth and Brian Sorgenfrei for keeping the candles lit through out the evening and Brian for helping change HOPE to read CURE- thanks! Lastly, all those who stayed and helped do clean up even though we were all exhausted; Brian Sorgenfrei, John Stimpson, Chris Hallock , Lew & Debi Dickinson, Robin Scott, and Bob & Susie Jarman.
