IIMC sells for $925K contingent upon one more valuation

MCS Association, a non-profit formed in 1970, is purchasing the former Inter Island Medical Center Building for $925,000. The sale is contingent upon one more market valuation. The San Juan County Public Hospital District No. 1 needs three appraisals or market analyses.  PHD Commissioner Anna Lisa Lundstrum said the offer is within the 90 percent window required by law.

The building has been for sale since Peace Island Medical Center opened five years ago. In 2015, the Town of Friday Harbor agreed to rezone the building from professional services to commercial.

According to Realtor Bill Giesy, the new owners plan to do something art-related at the site. It will be compatible with the neighboring San Juan Islands Museum of Art that occupies the former San Juan Island EMS building.
