Help is on the way for emergency first responders, taxi and delivery services, land surveyors, planners, or anyone just trying to figure out where something is located. San Juan County's GIS Department just released the 2017 San Juan County Map Books. The downloadable books, contain updated, large-scale maps of roads, addresses, landmarks, and topography for populated islands in San Juan County.
The books are designed with the help of San Juan County Public Works, San Juan County Chiefs Association, San Juan County Sheriff's Office, and other public safety agencies for emergency first-responders but are useful for everyone.
Map books are available in Adobe Acrobat PDF format that can be printed and used by anyone. The map books are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International license which means you are free to adapt, share, and print the map books (even commercially) as long as you give appropriate credit to San Juan County GIS.
