Washington State Ferries encourages riders to plan ahead for heavy ferry traffic Thanksgiving weekend. On Wednesday, Nov. 22, there will be an extra trip from Anacortes to Orcas at 1:55 p.m.
The longest lines are expected westbound Wednesday afternoon and evening, Nov. 22, and both westbound and eastbound Friday morning, Nov. 24 and eastbound on Sunday, November 26. The route will operate on its regular schedule on Thursday, Nov. 23.
Reservations are strongly advised and can be made up to two hours prior to sailing online at www.takeaferry.com, or by calling 5-1-1.
Vehicle traffic is advised to arrive 90 minutes to 2 hours in advance of the scheduled departure times. Reservation holders who check in later than 30 minutes prior to sailing time will travel stand by. Walk-on passengers should arrive at least 15 minutes prior to departure.
