PRESS RELEASE: Rep. Rick Larsen (WA-02) will hold a series of events May 4-9 as he kicks off his re-election campaign for Congress. In a series of discussions throughout his district, Larsen will discuss his proven record in Congress, and what he believes must be our path forward: a focus on more jobs, more skills, more financial security, and more opportunity.
“I am proud to call Washington’s 2nd District home,” said Larsen, who was raised in Arlington. “The value of a dollar and the importance of hard work were lessons I learned early in life as the son of a power line worker and a mom who managed the books while raising eight kids. With that many siblings, working together was a necessity and finding common ground just a part of growing up. We took care of each other, and knew that giving back to our community was a must. Now my wife and I are instilling those same values of hard work, giving back, and taking care of those who need help in our children. Those values drive me to serve our community and run for Congress.”
Next week’s events will give constituents a chance to speak directly to Larsen about the matters impacting them most. Larsen’s re-election campaign will highlight efforts to grow the clean energy economy and establish Washington's 2nd District as a center for renewable energy innovation; increase access to education, including apprenticeships and adult basic education; provide students and families with financial relief; and help the military and their families thrive.
Larsen added, “I'm working hard every day for the people of the 2nd District. I want to prove to my constituents that their government works for them.”
More than 300 individuals and local organizations have already pledged their support for Rep. Larsen. Learn more at: www.ricklarsen.org.
