NAS Whidbey Field Carrier landing practice schedule July 24-28

Aircraft carrier-based flight training for aircraft stationed at NAS Whidbey Island is scheduled to occur at Ault Field Monday through Thursday July 24- 27, 2017. Field Carrier Landing Practice (FCLP) operations are scheduled to occur at the Outlying Field (OLF) in Coupeville, Wash., on Wednesday, July 26 and Friday, July 28, 2017.

People living in local communities should remain aware that the aforementioned operations are not the only operations out of NAS Whidbey Island, particularly at Ault Field, which is a 24-hour-a-day operational facility. There are many other training evolutions that people may hear. However the aircraft carrier flight training operations are types of operations that involve lower altitude flight training in close vicinity to the airfield.

As a reminder, routine annual repairs to Runway 7/25 at Ault Field are scheduled from July 10 through August 30, 2017.

During that time planes can only take off and land heading either Northwest or Southeast using Runway 14/32, and are more likely to use a landing approach and departure that brings aircraft over eastern Oak Harbor and northern Camano Island.
