“I voted no on today’s Continuing Resolution because Congressional Republicans have once again shown their unwillingness to work with Democrats to pass a long-term spending bill and address important issues like immigration and infrastructure.
“Operating under short-term CRs is not the way to run the U.S. Government. It is time to pass a bipartisan long-term budget that addresses critical issues like infrastructure, veterans’ benefits, national health emergencies like the opioid crisis, and improving job skills through apprenticeships.
“Washingtonians deserve better than partisan gridlock. The American people expect more than a failure to commit to long-term solutions on the education, health and economic security of working families.”
