Recent permit applications: Appeal of Missing Mountain's SEPA DNS

An appeal has been filed of the Determination of Non-significance (DNS) for the State Environmental Policy Act regarding Missing Mountain Road on San Juan Island. The road would connect Pear Point and Turn Point Road on San Juan Island.

The purpose of a SEPA is to identify and evaluate the potential adverse environmental impacts of a proposal and involves the public. The determination whether impacts are likely to be significant is called the “Threshold Determination.” This is documented in either a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS), a Mitigated Determination of Nonsignificance (MDNS), or a Determination of Significance (DS). A DS requires the preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
