State plans for possible shut-down

The Washington state Office of Financial Management posted this statement at 2:50 p.m. Friday, June 30.

The Legislature is preparing to vote later today on the 2017–19 state operating budget. Legislative leaders have assured Gov. Inslee they will have the budget delivered in time for him to sign before midnight. This would avoid a partial government shutdown and suspension of services funded by the operating budget. There does not appear to be agreement yet on the 2017–19 capital budget.

State agencies have been instructed by OFM to continue executing contingency plans for operations in the event the budgets are not enacted by midnight June 30.

Updates will be posted on OFM's website.
