Kelli Marie Ashcraft, 22, of Friday Harbor, passed away on April 3, 2017 at her home. Kelli was born in Skagit Hospital, in Mount Vernon, WA on January 17, 1995, and was brought home the next day to Friday Harbor, WA, aboard the ferry during a gale.
Kelli attended Foxglove Preschool, and graduated with the class of 2013 on the honor roll at Friday Harbor High School. She was an athlete involved in soccer, softball, basketball, boxing, bike riding and bodybuilding. By the time Kelli graduated from high school, she had obtained her NASM personal training certificate and she nailed a job as a personal trainer and spinning instructor in San Diego, CA, at The La Jolla Sport Club. Kelli completed two years of college at Mesa Community College in San Diego and was also Captain of the girls’ cross country team placing 12th at State. Kelli competed in many bi and triathlons, always placing in the top of her class if not winning her age group. Kelli loved to travel, and had traveled through 8 countries, always exploring and learning about the different cultures.
Kelli touched everyone she met with her beautiful smile and playful attitude. She loved her family, especially her little sissy Brook. She had just returned from a year abroad in Australia when she was tragically taken from us.
Kelli leaves behind her parents, Edward and Tami Ashcraft; sister, Brook Fayella Ashcraft; grandmothers: Marie Louise Ashcraft and Zonna May Pennell; aunts: Roberta (Clinton) Crist, Theresa (Ron) Martinson and uncle, Tom (Karie) Ashcraft; many cousins and many friends. She will leave a big hole in our lives but fullness in our hearts.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday May 7, 2017 at Valley Cemetery with a Celebration of Life following at the Brickworks, Friday Harbor, until 4:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to both.
