Allen Martin MasonJuly 22,1945 - May 17, 2009
Allen Martin Mason 63, died on Sunday, May 17, 2009. Allen was born to Violet Allen Mason and Delbert Martin Mason on July 22,1945 in Seattle Wa. Allen was raised in Friday Harbor and graduated from Friday Harbor High School in 1963. He then joined the Army and was stationed in Germany. He also attended flight school in Reno Nevada and received his pilots license. Allen then married the love of his life Joey Sandwith, they raised five children. They just celebrated 40 years of marriage. Allen had five granchildren that were all very special to him, Kristopher, London, Chloe, Jaden, Zora. For many years Allen was a tour director and led trips to the Holy Land, Isreal, China, Eqypt. Meeting the pope was very special to him. He felt very lucky to have shared these trips with his wife and children. For the past few years he has been a caregiver to Ron Workman which he truly enjoyed. Allen's favorite pastimes included, hunting fishing, gardening, beach walking and spending time with family and friends. Allen is survived by his wife Joey Mason and children, Lindee and Kevin Hearns of Naches, Wa. Robert Mason of Arizona, Holly and Chris Schutza of Friday Harbor, Beradette Ebanks of Honduras, And Jeremy Mason of Friday Harbor,and grandchildren Kristopher Mason, London Schutza, Chloe Schutza, Jaden Ebanks, and Zora Ebanks, two brothers, David Mason of Kenniwick, And Nick and Judy Mason of Leavenworth, Wa. Allen was preceded in death by his father Delbert Mason and his mother Violet Allen Mason. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Friday Harbor Food bank. |
