OBITUARY: Florence Mary NordenAugust 28, 1924 - November 16, 2009 It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Florence (Florrie) Mary Norden (née Pitton) on November 16, 2009, after a long struggle with emphysema and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Florence (Florrie) was born and raised in Wildwood, Powell River along with eight siblings on the Pitton farm. She is predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Ray Norden, her grandson Guy Hamilton, her parents Gene and Malvina Pitton and siblings Leo, Alfred, Robert and Virginia Petty. She is survived by her daughters, Carol (Kelly) Hamilton (Powell River) and Peggy (Oren) Combs,(Friday Harbor) grandchildren Curtis, Lee-Ann and Lorna Hamilton, Robert, Sean and Joshua Combs,great-grandchildren Chadalee Hamilton, Zach and Devon Hamilton Chadwick,Maximillian Clark-Chretien, Xander, Weston and Mackenzie Combs,great-great-grandchildren Noah and Savannah. For those who knew Florence she loved her family, loved to entertain; there were lots of Sunday and special event dinners. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, travelling and basking in the sun in her earlier years. Her family always came first and foremost, as did helping neighbors. In her memory donations can be sent to the BC Lung Association. |
