Lopez boys varsity edges Friday Harbor JV

Lopez Island’s varsity boys basketball team beat Friday Harbor’s junior varsity 46-41 in a non-league contest Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2005.

The Lobos made 27 steals against the host Wolverines in the tight contest. "We really got on them with our press," said Lopez coach Brad Smith.

Jon Elings led Lopez with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Jason Smith scored 15 points and made 10 steals. Jordan Smith pumped in 12 points, grabbed 14 boards and made 5 steals. Bryce Jardine had 12 points and Evan McCoy chipped in 2.

Richie Ochoa was the Wolverines scoring leader with 14. Keller McNairy scored 12. Tommy Fowler pitched in 9. Matt Rothlisberger and Erik Nash scored 6 points apiece. Louis Paul and Pablo Lopez each scored 2 points.
