Bellevue Christian beats Friday Harbor 57-33

Bellevue Christian beat Friday Harbor 57-33 in the quarterfinal game at the Class 1A State Championship in Yakima. "That was a team on a mission," Friday Harbor Coach Rod Turnbull said of the Vikings. "They knew what they could do." Friday Harbor is still hoping to finish in the top eight. "We want to play on Saturday. That is our goal."

The Wolverines play Granger (20-5) at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 3. (Note the time has been changed. It is listed incorrectly on the WIAA Web site.) The winner of that game plays either Freeman (15-11) or Overlake (18-6) for 4th/7th place at noon on Saturday, March 4.

Bellevue Christian led 44-22 at the end of the third quarter. They hit a three-point shot at the buzzer to put the Vikings up 30 to 16 at the half. They led 13-10 at the end of the first quarter.

The Wolverines shooting was cold. The Vikings shot 48 percent from the field while the Wolverines shot 25.5 percent. Tyler Hart led the Wolverines with 11 points, John Hamilton had 8, Chad Stoddard had 6, Andrew Scheffer had 3, Keller and Brock McNairy each had 2 and Dylan Gerhardstein had 1.
