Friday Harbor baseball team blasts Orcas Island in doubleheader

Friday Harbor opened the season with 18-0 and 14-1 victories over visiting Orcas Island Saturday, March 15. The Wolverines' Jordan Nash went 4-for-4 in the second game and Roy Taylor and Richie Ochoa each swatted a home run.

Taylor and Parker Lawson rapped three singles apiece for the Wolverines in the first game. Ochoa and Ryan Aylward each hit a single and double. Albert Strasser and Alex Jangard connected for two base hits and Eddie Nash doubled.

Ochoa gave up only one hit and one base on balls whiling striking out 10 Vikings.

Taylor ripped his two-run homer one batter before Ochoa lofted a ball into the garden past the right-field fence. Nash cracked two doubles and two singles. Ochoa also doubled, as did Ryan Aylward.

Strasser, Jangard, Michael Sandifer, Eddie Nash and hit a single apiece.
