Unbeaten Wolverines nip Lions in baseballStory and photos by Matt Pranger Roy Taylor struck out 11 batters in six innings as undefeated Friday Harbor edged Concrete 2-0 in Northwest 1A/2B League baseball Tuesday, April 15. The Wolverines (12-0) scored their first run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Richie Ochoa smacked a double and stole third base. Albert Strasser singled him home. Friday Harbor added an insurance run in the fifth. Ryan Aylward rapped a base hit and stole second and third base. Michael Knowles drove him in with a single. Ochoa relieved Taylor in the seventh and struck out three straight. Taylor allowed three hits and walked two. He stemmed Concrete's biggest threat in the first inning. The Lions loaded the bases with two outs in the first inning before Taylor fanned a batter for the final out. | |
