Well the first week of post season competition has been completed. While a couple of teams will see their season’s end, we do have a two teams still competing - Girls Soccer and Football.
Girls Soccer – Our girls soccer team will play for the Bi-District Championship tomorrow, Saturday November 4, at 3 p.m. at Sedro Woolley High School. Win or lose they have also qualified for the state tournament that will begin next Friday or Saturday depending upon the outcomes of games this weekend. Where they play and who the play is TBD. They earned this opportunity by defeating Evergreen Lutheran this past Monday, 10/30, 5-0 at home, and then traveled to take on Crosspoint, of District 2 on Wednesday, November 1, where they won 3-1. Congratulations girls and on to STATE….. You can access their playoff bracket at http://www.nw1a2bathletics.com/index.php?pid=0.5.45.11.320
Football – Our football team won their game at La Conner last Friday, defeating the Braves, 23-0. They have now earned the right to be the District 1 #2 seed into the state tournament. They will play the District 4 #3 seed (winner of November 3 Willapa Valley/Toutle Lake game) Saturday, November 11 at a site and time TBD. Again, congratulations and on to STATE…….. Cheer – While not in an official post season competition, we still want to recognize this Fall’s Cheer group, and let you know how much we appreciate what they do. The support they provide to our teams is tremendous. Thank you for all you do.
Girls Volleyball –Our girls traveled to Crosspoint on October 31 in the first round of the Bi-District tournament. Unfortunately they lost 0-3 and fell to the single elimination side of the bracket. This past Thursday, November 2, the girls traveled to Mount Vernon Christian where they played Darrington for the right to move into the winner to state game. Darrington jumped out to a 2 game lead, but our girls fought back and won the match 3-2. They then, played Crosspoint again in the winner to State game. Our girls won the first set, but eventually wore down and lost the match in 4 sets 1-3. While their season is now over, they gave us some very exciting volleyball to watch this year and it was fun to watch this team grow. To continue following those teams still playing, state tournament information can be accessed at http://www.nw1a2bathletics.com/index.php?pid=0.5.45.10.320
Boys Soccer – Unfortunately our boys lost two very close hard fought games this week and have now been eliminated from post season play. On Monday, October 30 they traveled to #1 seed Crosspoint and lost 0-1 and then on Thursday, November 2 they traveled to Providence and were defeated 2-3. While their season is now complete, they competed and represented our school in great fashion this year. Congratulations on a great year. http://www.nw1a2bathletics.com/index.php?pid=0.5.45.9.320
