The San Juan County Economic Development Council (EDC) invites businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to attend a free online workshop, Getting Started with Microsoft Copilot, on Thursday June 11th from 9:00am-10:00am via Zoom.
Microsoft Copilot is an artificial intelligence assistant built directly into Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams. This practical workshop will introduce participants to Copilot’s capabilities and demonstrate how organizations can use AI to streamline everyday office tasks while maintaining appropriate human oversight.
Participants will learn how Copilot can assist with drafting emails, summarizing meetings, analyzing spreadsheets, creating presentations, organizing projects, and improving workplace productivity. The workshop will also explore how Copilot interacts with existing Microsoft systems, including SharePoint and Teams, and discuss best practices for governance, permissions, and data management.
Special attention will be given to privacy, security, public records considerations, and environmental considerations. Participants will gain a clearer understanding of both the opportunities and risks associated with integrating AI into workplace systems.
