Judith (Brown) Holcomb passed away peacefully at her home in Everett, WA. She was born on December 9th, 1946, to parents Lowell (Lou) and Margaret Brown. Judi had 9 siblings: Anna, Evelyn, Bertha, Kenny, Charlie, Robert, Loretta, Peggy, and John. She grew up on Friday Harbor in a house built by her dad, who also built many other homes on the Island. The family loved to hunt and fish and spend time swimming.
Judi graduated from Friday Harbor High in 1965 and afterward moved to the mainland. She was a dedicated, hard worker and was adored by everyone she met. Judi spent her life doting on her beloved daughter, son-in-law, granddaughters and great-grandchildren. She spent several seasons with her family on vacations, especially enjoying the great outdoors. Judi loved swimming, picnicking, playing games (she loved boggle), conversating and making great food together. She loved crafts and to sew and would make things with her grandkids often. She also loved flowers and her gardens – no one on the block could hold a candle to hers. Judi was sassy and witty, and she brought her family a lot of love and laughter, especially at her. She always said or did something outrageous that would forever stick in our minds.
Judi leaves behind her husband Ronald of Everett, WA, her 2 remaining siblings Peggy (Jerry) of Camano Island, WA and John (Theresa) of Whidbey Island, WA, her daughter Carol (Guy) of Bellevue, WA, her 4 granddaughters Tierra (Neahmaha) of Algona, WA, Danielle (Travis) of Granite Falls, WA, Amanda (John) of Tucson, AZ, and Alexis (Tony) of Bellevue, WA, and her 7 great-grandchildren, Neahmaha Jr, Henry, Charlotte, Adelyn, Harper, Jada, and John III.
We will deeply miss you, our sister, mother, grandmother, GG, and friend. We will cherish all of the beautiful memories shared together and pass on your memory and teachings. Say, “Hi” to the family and hold us a spot up there beside you! We love ya bunches!
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank with grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
