On November 18, 2024 Kathie passed peacefully surrounded by family. Born Kathryn Gay Lawson on March 7, 1948 to Ted Lawson and Patricia (Madden) Lawson, she was a member of two pioneer families.

She spent her life on San Juan Island, graduating from Friday Harbor High School in 1966 with honors.

In 1970 she married the love of her life, Stan Reitan. Together they raised eight children. Early on she found Jehovah God and His direction filled her life, bringing her strength through the years.

Kathie was devoted to her family, extended family and friends. All were welcome and coffee was always on!

She will be missed by those she touched and her life-long friends in the community. She had a strong sense of humor, loyalty and integrity.

For many of us, especially her younger sisters, she was an adopted mom.

She leaves behind her husband Stan Reitan and seven children: Deanna, Stan, Dan, Don, Shannon, Chad and Cody. Daughters Debbie and Darlene preceded her in death. She also leaves behind her three sisters, Patsy Scribner, Debbie Lawson and Darby Lawson, as well as numerous nephews, nieces and grandchildren.

Please join us Saturday, January 18th, 2025, at 1 p.m., at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 225 Malcolm Street, followed by a reception at Mullis Senior Community Center,589 Nash Street, Friday Harbor.
