Kiwanis: Together We Support Our Island Kids

For many years now, our little Friday Harbor Kiwanis group has worked hard to present the 4th of July Pig War Picnic!  This community event has a proven track record of being a free fun family event with music, Island Rec kids games and now a variety of vendors.  We wanted to take this opportunity to give a shout out of great thanks to all our local sponsors, as well as the Honeywell Foundation, who make this day possible for friends and family to enjoy.

Kiwanis is all about serving the children of our wonderful island.  Picnic proceeds in 2025 include $20,000 in scholarships and another $10,000 to the following groups:

Family Resource Center,

Food Bank,

Fish for Teeth,

Griffin Bay,

Home School Program,

Elementary School,

Boy Scout Troup 4090,

Economic Development Council

Island Museum of Art,

Friends of the Library,

Conservation Corps,

Purple and Gold Booster Club.

We provide Halloween candy to the hard hit neighborhoods, Toys for tots for those in need and we contribute to the Community Thanksgiving dinner. Wow!  Thanks to our sponsors for all your support.  Without you, these gifts would not have been possible.

Our community works together to keep the kids fed, safe, educated, busy and clean!

See you at the Picnic!
