May 18: 6th annual community potluck dinner at Jacksons Beach

Gathering of the Eagles

Each May, Indigenous families paddle their ancestral waterways as part of an annual canoe journey. Through this voyage—called Esqalph etse Kwelengsen, or Gathering of the Eagles—they connect with the people and nature of the San Juan Islands. Along the way, islanders support the canoe families at each stop with food, hospitality, safety boats, and more.

We would love your help in supporting this year’s canoe journey. On May 18, Friends of the San Juans is hosting  the sixth annual community potluck dinner at Jackson Beach. We’re looking for volunteers to contribute food, supplies, and a hand with setup. Will you help us?  SIGN UP HERE

Everyone is invited to greet the canoes as they arrive around 1 pm and stay for the shared meal at 5 pm. It’s a meaningful evening rooted in connection and community, and we want you to be a part of it.
