Warnings issued about recreational shellfish harvesting in the San Juan Islands and Skagit County

Washington Dept of Health Shellfish Safety map and a MOBILE FRIENDLY VERSION

KOMO News  has an article - Shellfish contaminated by toxic algae may cause paralysis - about an algae bloom.  Due to the holiday weekend, we haven't received any news release from San Juan County. The Washington Dept of Health has a safety map, Recreational Shellfish beach closures listed by county, a fact sheet on vibriosis and much more information on its website

Commercial operations are separate from the recreational information. The commercial closure information is posted here.

I believe it helpful if such warnings add information about symptoms. I collected and enjoyed oysters myself just yesterday gathered at Jackson Beach on San Juan Island.
