Island Rec is offering a First Aid and CPR classes. The First Aid class will take place from 5 -to 9:30 pm Wednesday, September 25. CPR will take place 5 to 8:30 pm Thursday, September 26.
Upon successful completion of these classes you will walk away with life-saving skills and a First Aid certification from the American Heart Association that is valid for two years. This is an ideal class for parents, babysitters, volunteer coaches and recreation leaders ages 15 and up.
Both classes are located at the Frank Wilson EMS building. Early registration, which lasts until September 12, is $47; the registration fee is $52 thereafter. Why is there a $47 fee to learn life saving techniques for people who want to be able to help those in need of medical attention or to save a life? Shouldn’t we be encouraging those who want to learn these skills? More people should know first aid and CPR. How about offering it for free?Report
