Feb. 2: 21 new cases of COVID, vaccination clinics this month

Twenty-one cases of COVID-19 were reported on February 2, 2022 by the San Juan County Health and Community Services Dept. This brings the total since March 2020 to 1,025. The per island counts are San Juan Island 487, Orcas Island 367, Lopez Island 151, Shaw Island 8, outer islands 9.

The county is handing out 5,000 free at-home tests this week on San Juan Island, Orcas Island and Lopez Island. Vaccination clinics are taking place this month on the three largest islands. 

Active cases are those involving confirmed positive individuals who are still in the infectious period of their illness, are required to remain in isolation, and are being carefully monitored by San Juan County public health staff. An individual can have ongoing long-term symptoms of COVID and no longer be infectious.

Registration for February vaccination clinics is currently open. The links are at the end of this article. This is your opportunity for you or your child to get a first shot, second shot, or booster.

Note that due to reduced demand, clinics on Lopez have been scaled back, but local providers on Lopez are making vaccinations readily available. Vaccination clinics are being held in February. MORE INFO on other vaccination opportunities on county website

PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING FOR A BOOSTER APPOINTMENT:

You will need to bring a copy of your vaccination record showing your previous COVID-19 vaccinations to this clinic in order for staff to verify your eligibility.

If you have lost your vaccination card you can get a copy of your vaccination record through WADOH using their MyIR system. Click here for more information. If you have difficulty accessing MyIR please call WADOH at 833-VAX-HELP (833-829-4357).

Please ensure you are eligible for the booster dose. Check eligibility requirements HERE.

REGARDING BOOSTERS FOR 16 AND 17 YEAR OLDS:

Pediatric booster vaccinations are available at our Pfizer pediatric clinics. Please indicate that this is your child's third dose. It must be at least six months since your child's completing dose. Please bring a copy of their vaccination record to their appointment to verify eligibility.

Registration for clinics closes at 4 PM the day before the clinic. We are not accepting walk-up registrations at this time.
