COVID case number increasing; 134 in 1st half of August

The number of COVID-19 cases in San Juan County are occurring at approximately twice the rate of each of the past two months. In August, according to the San Juan County Health and Community Services Department, there have been 134 cases as of August 14, 2022. In the full months of June and July, there were 121 and 105 respectively.

The total since the first case was reported in March of 2020, is 1900. By comparison, almost exactly a year ago August 13, 2021 there had been 237 cases in the whole county.  

Actively Monitored Cases, are  those cases involving confirmed positive individuals who are still in the infectious period of their illness, are required to remain in isolation, and are being carefully monitored by San Juan County public health staff. An individual can have ongoing long-term symptoms of COVID and no longer be infectious. The numbers are: San Juan Island 16 | Orcas Island 8 | Lopez Island 1 | Shaw Island 0 | Outer Islands 0
