1,923 COVID cases in San Juan County since March 2020; 157 this month

The number of COVID-19 cases in San Juan County since the first case in March 2020 is 1,923 as of August 29, 2022 according to the San Juan County Health and Community Services Department. The health dept is releasing numbers once a week on Mondays. are occurring at approximately twice the rate of each of the past two months. In August there have been 157 cases as of August 29, 2022. In the months of June and July, there were 121 and 105 respectively.

Actively Monitored Cases, are  those cases involving confirmed positive individuals who are still in the infectious period of their illness, are required to remain in isolation, and are being carefully monitored by San Juan County public health staff. An individual can have ongoing long-term symptoms of COVID and no longer be infectious. The numbers as of August 29 are: San Juan Island 7| Orcas Island 2 | Lopez Island 0 | Shaw Island 0 | Outer Islands 0
