Northwest Natural Resource Group is offering a workshop exploring the options for powering our houses, schools, and communities with woody biomass. The Energy Opportunities for Woody Biomass workshop takes place from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the San Juan Island Grange, 152 1st St., Friday Harbor.
Speakers will cover everything from current energy markets to comparisons of conventional and biomass fuel. Renewable energy from woody biomass can be an empowering strategy for forest owners in the San Juans to reduce woody biomass, improve forest health, and generate income.
