UPDATE: Elwha back in service with 4:45 sailing

It is first come, first-serve for ferry service to and from Friday Harbor Saturday, July 6. The Elwha ferry is temporarily out of service due to unscheduled necessary repairs to the vessel. So far the following sailings are canceled:

11:55 a.m. departure from Anacortes to Friday Harbor

1:50 p.m. departure from Friday Harbor to Lopez

2:40 p.m. departure from Lopez  to Anacortes

Friday Harbor Ferry Terminal worker marks car indicating they have a reservation and then directs them to a parking lot to wait.

All other vessels will sail as scheduled. While service will be first-come, first-served, reservation holders will be given priority. There will be no standby service for the effected routes today.

Reservation holders who choose not to sail today will not receive a "No Show" fee. Updates will be posted on Washington State Ferries BULLETIN web page when more information is available.

The 8 a.m. sailing was also canceled which resulted in a gridlock situation in Friday Harbor while drivers tried to find parking.

Vehicles at one point were directed to go up Granny's Place (A Street) instead of Spring Street.
