In May car & driver fare to SJI is $60; OI $51; Lopez $42

Islanders might want to befriend someone who uses multi-ride ferry tickets. Sharing will ease the impact of the May 1 to September 30 peak season surcharge.

The peak fare for a  car and driver from Anacortes to San Juan Island will be $60.65; Anacortes to Orcas/Shaw Island $51.10;  Anacortes to Lopez Island $42.65.

While the price of the 5-trip card does go up from its current rate there is no surcharge on the multi-ride cards. The cost as of May 1 is  $169.05 for San Juan Island; $142.45 for Orcas Island; $119.00 for Lopez. That works out per trip  to $33.81 San Juan Island; $28.49 Orcas; and $23.80  Lopez.
