Staying Afloat: Challenges Facing Washington State Ferries,  an hour-long documentary by TVW host/producer Jessica Gao which aired Tuesday night on TVW, can be viewed online.

Gao profiled WSF and used more than two dozen interviews with ferry users, advocates and critics, state officials, and legislators from ferry districts and other parts of the state.

On Wednesday evening Gao interviewed David Moseley Washington State Department of Transportation, Assistant Secretary Ferries Division. An interview with State Secretary of  Transportation Paula Hammond, the Moseley interview and others are available at www.tvw.org/

New ferry fares begin Saturday, Oct. 1

New ferry fares will go into effect Saturday, Oct. 1. In August, the Washington State Transportation Commission adopted changes to WSF fares. The changes to be implemented Oct. 1 include: general fare increase of 2.5 percent, new fare category for vehicles less than 14 feet long, elimination of bicycle permits, and per-ticket surcharge of 25 cents to help fund new vessel construction.
