Nine San Juan County elected positions are on the ballot in 2018 for the November 6 general election. The primary is August 7. Filing week for candidates begins at 8 a.m. (in-person filing) and at 9 a.m. (online filing) Monday, May 14 and ends at 4 p.m. (online) and at 4:30 p.m.( in-person) Friday, May 18, 2018.
Offices up for election in the Tuesday, November 6 general elections include the following. If more than two candidates file for a position, the voters will select the top two in the August 7 primary. Those two will continue on to the general election.

Superior Court Judge
Also up for election are Precinct Committee Office for both Democrat and Republican Party for every precinct.
During filing week, candidates may submit their filings online, by email, by fax, or in person at the San Juan County Elections Office at 55 Second Street in Friday Harbor.
Mail-in filings will be accepted no earlier than Monday, April 30 and will be processed on May 14. Mailed filings will be accepted if they are received at the Elections Office no later than Friday, May 14. If filing by mail, forms should be mailed to San Juan County Auditor, Elections Office, PO Box 638, Friday Harbor, WA 98250.
Candidates should consider filing online. Candidates who file online will receive not only confirmation of their filing, but also updates when other candidates file for that office. Candidates can file from home on their personal computers or may file on a computer at the Elections Office.
To file online, go to the Elections webpage at www.sanjuanco.com/1231/Candidate-Information and navigate to “Candidate Filing Online” under “Candidate Information.”
Candidates filing for Federal or State offices will file with the Secretary of State.

This article has been corrected. The five commissioner positions for San Juan County Hospital District #3 are listed on the county's election website along with the rest of the positions up for election in 2018.
