Voter turnout 81.43 percent in San Juan County; Updated vote totals

Voters in the San Juan Islands made sure their voices were heard, as 10,905 ballots or 81.43 percent were cast in the November 6, 2018 General Election. 13,392 ballots were mailed to voters. The highest turnout in recent General Elections was 91.49 percent in 2008.

In addition to processing the ballots, Elections Office staff were busy with hundreds of new voter registrations. There were 510 voter registrations processed after September 22, 2018.

San Juan County's voter turnout percentage was exceeded by Garfield County with 82.62 percent and Jefferson County 82.2 percent. The turnout for all 39 counties in Washington is posted here

November 8 , 2016:  88.25  percent. Registered Voters: 12,798. Ballots cast:  11,294

November 4, 2014:  71.61 percent. Registered Voters: 11,985. Ballots cast:  8,583

November 6, 2012:  89.39 percent. Registered Voters: 12,019. Ballots cast:  10,744  

November 2, 2010:  80.84 percent. Registered Voters: 11,606. Ballots cast:  9,382

November 4, 2008:  91.49 percent. Registered Voters: 11,624. Ballots cast:  10,635

Ron Krebs: 5,760 (57.89 percent)

Jeff Asher: 4,190 (42.11 percent)

San Juan County District Court Judge

Carolyn Jewett: 6,306 (65.07 percent)

Steve Brandli: 3,385 (34.93 percent)
