Committee against SJ EMS levy renewal formed

Black and white political signs have been seen on San Juan Island opposing the renewal of San Juan Emergency Medical Services levy. Some have been removed because they were posted on private property without the property owner's permission.

A committee, Citizens for Accountable Government, registered with the state Public Disclosure Commission on December 23, 2021 is apparently the group behind the signs. The only person named in the registration is Rebecca Smith who is listed as treasurer.

I've submitted a Public Records Request to the state's PDC to see if there's any other information now that we've also received a mailer.

I need a timeline for this controversy. Last I heard, the County voted against putting the EMS with the Fire District. Now the Fire District wants to leave us with an unfunded EMS? Who are these people? This is not a new controversy, nationally speaking. Many EMS districts are disengaging from Fire Departments because they are finding it difficult to get appropriate funding.
