Coast Guard and good samaritans rescue Race to Alaska racers

Three people participating in the Race To Alaska were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard and good samaritans Monday, June 13, the first day of the race. 

The three, suffering from hypothermia, were taken to Port Townsend.

Two teams from Friday Harbor are in the race.
