Friday Harbor Port Commission will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, October 10 in the port meeting room at 271 Front Street (under San Juan Yacht Club). Topics include the Sea Scouts, potential use by the Canoe Family group of the Jensens facility, a possible water feature at Fairweather Park and turning over a Spring Street Landing lease to collections.

A.Discuss and Approve Memo of Understanding (MOU) for use of the Jensens facility by Canoe Family group. The Island Canoe Family has determined that temporary use of the Jensens facility is not a practical solution for them. They are interested in working with the Port to craft a MOU for storage and operations out of the Jackson Beach facility. Port Staff could craft an MOU that ensures that the boat ramp and parking areas are not adversely impacted. The Port would reserve the right to terminate the agreement or modify it to accommodate our future needs. The use area envisioned is the space currently occupied by the group outrigger canoes.
B.Discuss and Approve sending Buchanan Cruises Spring Street Landing lease settlement to collections. Staff will discuss the status and history of this account and recommend moving this account to collections.
A.Discuss Waterfront Master Plan regarding the water feature in Fairweather Park. Staff will discuss details of the Waterfront Master Plan’s layout for the future of Fairweather Park and how a temporary water feature may fit in.
