Bird strike at Eastsound Airport
Pilots were advised by the Eastsound Airport Manager that there was a bird strike at the airport Monday, June 20, 2022. The bird was most likely a turkey.
Nobody was hurt, but the turkey did not fair so well. The airport manager also reminded pilots that turkey vultures have been an ongoing safety hazard at the airport and emphasized the importance of keeping watch while arriving and departing.
The airport staff have not found any reason that the vultures are around.
