Interim Planning Director to start June 1 in San Juan County

Norm Gollub will serve as San Juan County Community Development and Planning Department Director beginning June 1, 2023. The opening was created by the abrupt firing of the San Juan County Planning Director earlier this month. 

Gollub was the Executive Director for the Foss Waterway Development Authority before retiring. Since then he has been available for interim positions including as Port Angeles Interim Director of Community and Economic Development from July 2022 to April 2023.

"Norm has been serving the public and private sectors for over 40 years to meet their economic, real estate development, neighborhood revitalization, urban design, and planning needs. Prior to semi-retirement he was the Executive Director for the Foss Waterway Development Authority, responsible for the management and development of shoreline properties, and amenities along Tacoma's 1-1/2 mile-long downtown waterfront. Diverse skill sets have enabled him to tackle a variety of projects throughout his career across many disciplines, and to manage individuals from all walks of life. He has earned a positive reputation as an effective facilitator, administrator, and creative designer. Norm is now available for consulting or working as an interim on a part time basis.
