As he was driving his family into town to see the 4th of July fireworks in Friday Harbor, San Juan County Undersheriff Zac Reimer witnessed a rollover accident on San Juan Valley Road. A driver, allegedly under the influence, heading out of town crossed the center line hitting the car in front of Reimer's. The driver of the second car had steered towards the shoulder to avoid being hit head on.
"It was a glancing blow and it flipped the car onto its side," Reimer said.
Reimer called in the crash and helped the four adults and one child from the flipped car. The victim and his four passengers were not seriously injured.
The accident is under investigation.
