Gov. Inslee will be in Friday Harbor discussing broadband on May 28

Gov. Jay Inslee will visit Skagit County and San Juan County Tuesday, May 28 to discuss broadband connectivity, infrastructure and needs. He will participate in a telemedicine demonstration and attend community broadband meetings.

Inslee recently signed a bill that will create both a statewide broadband office and a grant and loan program that will help communities across the state construct and install broadband services. The governor rolled out his broadband proposal earlier this year.

9:55 AM – Broadband discussion in Friday Harbor at Friday Harbor High School STEM Center (45 Blair Avenue, Friday Harbor)

12:30 PM – Broadband discussion in Anacortes at Anacortes City Hall (Q Ave & 6th St, Anacortes)

2:00 PM – Community meeting with SkagitNet and tour of broadband vault site at Port of Skagit (15400 Airport Drive, Burlington)
