U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) will hold a roundtable with affordable housing advocates to discuss the need for affordable housing options on the San Juan Islands, as well as Senator Cantwell’s efforts to secure more federal resources for affordable housing in Washington state and around the country. It takes place at OPAL Community Land Trust, 286 Enchanted Forest Road in Eastsound.
This spring, Senator Cantwell successfully secured an expansion of the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC). This $2.7 billion expansion will help Washington state build 20% more affordable housing developments in 2018.
