April 3: Advance Care Planning Workshop offered in Friday Harbor

Learn about advance care planning and get help filling out your advance directives
Hospice of the Northwest is hosting a two-part workshop on Advance Care Planning. In the first session, participants will learn about advance care planning and how to select a healthcare agent. In the second session, participants will get assistance filling out and completing their advance directives.
Advance care planning ensures your goals, values and preferences are known — not only at the end of life, but if you become unable to communicate those desires due to illness or injury. All documents are provided free of charge.
Advance care planning is for adults at any stage of life.
Part 1: Monday, March 13, 2023 at 1 p.m.

at the Mullis Community Senior Center, 589 Nash St, Friday Harbor
Research has shown that advance care planning increases the likelihood that healthcare providers and family members will comply with a person’s wishes at the end of life — including their desire to die at home. Advance care planning also reduces the emotional burden and moral distress often experienced by family members making healthcare decisions for a loved one.
