San Juan County Sheriff's Log Feb. 3-9: Assaults, burglaries, thefts

Deputies responded to a 911 call of a forced entry burglary in progress on San Juan Island. The reporting party was assaulted by the suspect and was struck on the head with a frying pan. Deputies arrived and arrested the suspect, still on the scene. The victim was treated and released.

On Thursday 02-04-2016 at approximately 0053 hours the Sheriff's Office received a report of a traffic accident on Roche Harbor Road in the area of Terrace Drive on San Juan Island. A Deputy arrived and found the driver had made her way out of the vehicle and was covered in mud.

A Friday Harbor resident returned from an off island trip to find the truck he had parked on Warbass Way was missing, presumed stolen. The owner has no suspects in mind. A WSP stolen report was filed and deputies will continue to watch for the truck.

On 2-7-16 at 1646 hours Deputies in Friday Harbor received a report of a domestic. The investigation showed that no assault took place.

A deputy  in Friday Harbor received a report of a vehicle prowl. The victim reported two wallets and a handgun stolen from his vehicle that had been parked in his driveway. This case is still under investigation.
